~ I don't sing because I'm happy; I'm happy because I sing. ~ William James
We Rehearse Every Monday 7:30pm - 9:30pm. Join Us!
An ALERT will be posted here
if a rehearsal is canceled.
The Acton Community Chorus (ACC) is a local, non-profit community organization founded in 1984 to provide singers from Acton and surrounding towns an opportunity to come together in a choral ensemble and to share the joy of music with the community.
We have enjoyed continued growth over the last 28 years under the direction and guidance of our musical director, Paul Johnson, and our accompanist, Susan Bishov.
We encourage area singers to join the chorus during our two open rehearsals each season.
Our next open rehearsals will be:
September 10th and 17th, 2012
at the
Faith Evangelical Free Church,
No auditions are required.
You're always warmly welcomed into our group. The chorus rehearses Monday evenings at Faith Evangelical Free Church (54 Hosmer Street, Acton) to prepare for our two major performances. (While the church graciously hosts our rehearsals, the chorus is non-church affiliated.)
Our Winter Lights Concert in January typically features classical choral selections. Recent concerts have included works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms, Bach, Britten, and Vierne.
Our Spring Pops Concert in June features more contemporary music, generally around a central theme, such as “Sounds of the Sixties,” “A Night at the Movies,” and “Broadway, Then & Now.”
